We had a birthday dinner for Darren the other night, but it was Rowan that was the star of the show, not surprisingly.

Visiting Aunt Brenda, my mustache, and puppies

Yesterday, Rowan visited his Aunt Brenda! Fortunately, she has little kiddie toys at her house, so he had lots of things to chew on, the plastic frog being his favorite.




Here he is with a mustache and goatee, still better then his Uncle Adam can grow!



Now that he can stand, he loves to tease the puppies thru the gate. Cimarron will still lick hands, and if he gets to close, his face!

Crawling... and pulling up

So, he has now learned to both crawl, and pull himself up on things. So he is now mobile, and able to get into way too much stuff. Good thing his room is gated!

My pony

Rowan's Aunt Shannon gave him this cool pony that talks, and is very soft. It's suddenly become his favorite toy. And yes, he is able to stay on it (briefly) by himself.




Pureed Cherries? I don't know about this... (there was an outfit change required after this, even with the bib.)


OK. I've moved three feet, time for a rest.

Gymboree

Darren's schedule was weird the past few days, so we all went to Gymboree. Rowan has a great time playing with all of the different toys, and he really loves the bubbles, even if he's not sure quite what to do with them. We also got to hang out with our friend Ethan, and his mom and dad, Kirstin and Brandon. Rowan and Ethan see each other a few times a week, both at Gymboree and add library story time, where his Grandma Linda brings him.
We have been learning how to crawl. Rowan moves forward rather well, but it's more of a scoot-and-flop technique, then a real crawl. It will still get him places, but it's not real graceful, and he gets frustrated after about three flops, and does something else.
