Baby's First Book

On Sunday, Darren, Gary, Linda and I headed to Utica, OH, otherwise known as, the Ice Cream Capital to check out the Ice Cream Festival! We had a great time. We were also able to purchase the Baby's first book. It is called Helping Heroes and is all about Police Officers and Firefighters. We thought that this was a great first book for the Baby's book collection. Now if only we could find a book about Accountants....

The Baby is doing really well. He/She has been moving around for a few weeks now, but the movements have been stronger. Darren has not yet been able to feel the baby move but I think he will just in time for Fathers Day. We are very excited and can't believe that 21 weeks have gone by so quickly! We have our monthly doctors appt next Monday so I will make sure to report back after then!

Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure

On Saturday, my friend Kirsten (27 weeks pregnant) and I (20 weeks pregnant) joined 37,000
people in Columbus, OH to support the quest to find a cure for breast cancer at the Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure. Kirsten, Brandon (her hubby) and I participated in the 1 mile "fun walk", which was more like the 1 mile shuffle because of the amount of people walking.
The above picture is the starting line and the one below is the finish line. All of us felt that we probably could have walked the 5K but we I guess it's better to be safe then sorry :)
The picture below was one I just had to take and post.. I think the little weiner dog actually thought it could take on the horse!

HOLY COW!!!!

Holy Cow, Darren in 30!!!(yes, we too found this absolutly hiliarous, are we mature enough to have a baby??) Darren turned 30 this past week on Wednesday, May 16th. On Thursday, to celebrate, Darren and I had a wonderful dinner at McCormick and Schmicks! They have some of the best seafood EVER..well at least some of the best in Columbus OH. One of the things that McCormick and Schmicks is known for is that they change their menu twice a day, which means that they will print special occassions on the menu for you! Notice that they too made sure to tell Darren that he was now 30.Just in case you can't read the menu from the distance....Darren enjoyed a wonderful dinner of salmon that was cooked "Fisherman Style". We still don't quite know what "Fisherman Style" is but it was still very very tasty!I enjoyed my absolutly favorite seafood dinner...LOBSTER! It was very good...I can't wait until next year when I can actually buy the lobster off the fishing boats in RI.And of course we both enjoyed a "few" bites of dessert compliments of the restaurant! On Sunday, I had family over to celebrate Darren's 30th birthday! Gary, Linda, Uncle Lenny, Aunt Sheryl, Aunt Brenda, and David all came over to enjoy a delicious dinner of shrimp (David and I had steak), marinated veggies, and lemon rice. Everyone seemed to enjoy dinner but...The real highlight of the night was the wonderful dessert Linda made!!! Again..notice how we feel the need to point out how old Darren is...A great birthday was had and I hear that turning 31 is not nearly as tramatic as it was turning 30.

19 Weeks

So here I am at 19 weeks! Next week will mark the halfway point. Darren and I had a Doctors appointment on Monday, May 7th. Of course they weighed me and it seems that the baby has gained 7 lbs. He/She is growing like a little weed :) (ok, so it is not all baby which is a good thing because otherwise I would be delivering a 35 lb baby). They also took my bloodpressure which was 114/60 which is perfect! Then our favorite part of the appointment - we heard the heartbeating! It has gotten so much stronger since our last appointment 4 weeks ago.

Another milestone that I would like to share is that I have started to feel the baby move!! It is a crazy, crazy feeling. It almost feels like someone is tickling my insides! I can't wait for the kicks to be strong enough for Darren to feel them.

Hope everyone out there in blog world is doing well and enjoying the awesome weather that Spring has finally sprung!

Till next time :)
